Event Details

Celebrate International Women’s Day with West Coast LEAF’s Annual 25th Equality Breakfast. Honour our collective achievements, inspire and be inspired, catch up with old friends and meet new ones, and raise money for West Coast LEAF’s upcoming projects in the areas of legal education, law reform, and litigation.

This year West Coast LEAF will host Chantal Hébert as our 2012 Equality Breakfast keynote speaker. Hébert, political raconteur and columnist, writes for the Toronto Star and Le Devoir, and is a member of CBC’s The National’s weekly At Issue panel.  One of Canada's most beloved pundits, Hébert brings first-hand knowledge of the dynamics that shape much of the decisions and policies on Parliament Hill. She has reported on Canada’s constitutional and referendum wars, the 1988 free-trade debate, the rebirth of the Conservative movement, and published French Kiss: Stephen Harper’s Blind Date with Quebec

The 25th Equality Breakfast is vegetarian friendly. It includes Sign Language Interpretation, and the Fairmont is wheelchair accessible. Be sure to visit our website to check out silent auction sneak peeks, to find out about our wonderful sponsors, and to see what happened at last year's Breakfast.

West Coast LEAF

The West Coast Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) formed when the equality guarantees of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms came into force.  Our mission is to achieve equality by changing historic patterns of systemic discrimination against women through BC-based equality rights litigation, law reform and public legal education.
